Two-time James Beard Award-winning chef Hugh Acheson’s downtown Atlanta restaurant By George opened late October in the newly renovated Candler Hotel. The 3,000-square-foot restaurant is named after the original architects of the circa 1906 building, George E. Murphy and George Stewart. Acheson says he was inspired by the history and architecture of the building, which was influenced by former Atlanta mayor Asa Griggs Candler.
